National Catholic Register Rome Correspondent Edward Pentin calls in to the program first thing to talk about the two Vatileaks arrests that occurred in the Vatican yesterday. Francesca Chaouqui and Monsignor Lucio Angel Vallejo Balda were arrested Monday and charged with leaking confidential information and documents. Chaouqui has since been freed due to her cooperation in the investigation. For more information, click here.

Gus also welcomes popular Catholic blogger, and Seize the Day semi-regular, Fr. Dwight Longenecker, to the program to talk about the “exorcism” that was recently televised and to get his thoughts on the Synod of Bishops.

And we have two great caller segments. Gus told his audience that, last Sunday, his pastor announced that they would no longer take up a weekly second collection. Gus gets listeners thoughts on second collections and whether or not they’d be in favor of eliminating them.

Also, Gus talks ministry longevity and asks listeners to call in who’ve been involved in a particular lay ministry for a long time. He talks with Eucharistic ministers, lectors, youth group leaders, RCIA instructors and more.
