Gus kicks off the show by talking about weight loss. He and his family are big fans of the reality series “The Biggest Loser” and he asks people to call in who’ve lost great amounts of weight to explain what was the spiritual component of that experience.

We also hear from Edward Clancy, outreach director of the Aid to the Church in Need, to talk about the dire situation in the Middle East. As fighting intensifies, the persecution of Christians becomes more and more intense. Edward gives more detail on what exactly is going on this morning and lets listeners know how they can help. Also, it’s St. Martha’s feast day and, in her honor, Gus asks listeners how they serve or have served the Church. We had responses of all kinds – Eucharistic ministry, RCIA, assisting at retreats, etc.

St. Martha, pray for us.

Mary and Martha
