Gus recounts a story he heard from a woman at a parish mission the other day who told him that her mother left the Church 35 years ago because she was treated very poorly by a priest. It prompted Gus to ask listeners to call in who left the Church and tell him why. We got several stories of people who left and came back as well as from people who still haven’t returned.
Also, inspired by today’s reading (Matthew 6: 7-15), Gus plays a little Bible roulette. Callers get a Lenten Scripture reflection for the day.
And, we’re joined by Ignatius Press Editor Vivian Dudro who talks with us about the late Mother Mary Francis’ book “A Time of Renewal: Daily Reflections for the Lenten Season.” You can order the book by clicking here. Mother Mary Francis was a Poor Clare Abbess who never intended the collection of reflections to be published.
