With NBC Nightly News anchor Brian Williams still in the news for “misremembering” his helicopter being hit by a rocket-propelled grenade during the 2003 U.S. invasion of Iraq. Gus asks listeners their thoughts. Is this a big deal or not? Should Brian Williams be forgiven and be allowed back in the anchor seat?

Gus also talks about lay ministries (i.e., Eucharistic ministers, catechists, Bible study groups, etc.) and asks listeners to phone in who have ever been involved in a lay ministry that they wanted to leave and how they went about it. He also invites people to call in who are going through that experience now.

And, Bishop Richard Malone, of the diocese of Buffalo, New York, calls in to the program to talk about National Marriage Week (Feb. 7-14). In addition to his diocesan duties, Bishop Malone serves as the chairman of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops’ Committee on Laity, Marriage, Family Life and Youth.
