Catholic author Bret Thoman joins us from Italy where he is in the midst of walking the Camino of Saint Benedict, a walking trail from St. Benedict’s birthplace, Norcia, to the monastery where he died and where his body is kept, Montecassino. He’s doing this to draw awareness to the damage caused by last year’s devastating earthquake in Norcia, and especially to the Benedictine monastery and church of St. Benedict that crumbled to the ground (pictured below).

Also, Gus talks about it being First Holy Communion Season and asks listeners to call in and share what they’ve either received or given for first communion.

And, Gus is taking the next three days off to help his son Patrick move and settle in for his first job out of college in Myrtle Beach, SC. He’ll be a TV reporter. Gus talks about his first job in radio and asks listeners to call in and share their first job experience.
