It was Pro Life Thursday on Seize the Day.
First, Gus welcomed Kristan Hawkins, president of Students for Life America, who spoke about pro-life groups’ increasing frustration over the U.S. Congress’ inactivity over restrictions on pain-capable abortions. You can read more about it here.
During the conversation, Gus brought up Pope Francis sending priests out as “missionaries of mercy” to offer forgiveness to women who’ve had abortions. Gus asks listeners to call in who have had abortions and what the healing process has been like for them.
And, Gus gave his opinion on the ongoing lawsuit between actress Sofia Vergara and her ex-fiancee Nick Loeb over the fate of their frozen embryos they created while they were dating. It seems Sofia wants them destroyed while Nick wants to keep them. To read more about this, click here.
But, we end on a more positive note as Gus talks first holy communions. He remembers his and asks listeners to call in to reminisce over theirs or their children’s and also asks if there was a period of time afterward they slipped away from the Church. Gus also asks what can be done to make the Catholic Church more appealing to young people.
