Gus talks about the terrorist attacks in Paris, France yesterday on the satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo and is dismayed that no prominent Muslim leaders have come out against any of these types of actions. He also asks listeners to call in who have friends or co-workers who are Muslim and what that experience has been like for them.
Also, Francis Rooney, former U.S. Ambassador to the Holy See, calls in to talk about the U.S. opening up relations with Cuba and how Pope Francis, Pope Benedict XVI and Pope St. John Paul II were partially responsible for that and the reaction its getting, particularly by Cuban-Americans. Ambassador Rooney also gives his feelings on the Paris terrorist attack.
And, Gus talks about the recent memo sent by Miami, Florida Archbishop Thomas Wenski to archdiocesan employees, which warned them not to publicly support the recent legalizing of same-sex marriage in that state and gets listener reaction.
