In today’s Scripture reading (Matthew 1:18-25), St. Joseph discovers Mary’s pregnancy and decides to divorce her quietly. After he resolved to do this, he was visited by an angel of the Lord telling him that the child was conceived by the Holy Spirit and to name Him Jesus because He would save people from their sins. When he awoke, he did as the angel commanded. Gus relates this to our children bringing us closer to our faith and asks listeners, who are parents, if having kids did that to them.

Speaking of children, Fr. Andrew Small, national director of the Pontifical Mission Societies, calls in to talk about the Missionary Childhood Association and the events that are coming up for Christmas. To find our more about it or to support any of the Pontifical Mission Societies, click here.

And, we hear from Bob Dunning the last time this year to talk about the college bowl season and we get Gus and Bob’s picks for the first-ever College Football Playoff and who will win the national championship.
