On today’s Seize the Day, Gus revisits the statement made recently by the Liberian Church Council saying “God is angry with Liberia” and that “Ebola is a plague.” Gus again asks his listeners if they feel God does indeed punish people in that manner.

Gus also talks about a recent article in the Washington Post which said Americans’ optimism for the American dream is dying and that many fear their children’s lives won’t be better than it has been for them. He takes it to the listeners and asks them if they agree or disagree with that sentiment. To read the article, click here.

And, Jonathan Teixiera calls into the program. He’s the manager for online campaigns for Fellow of Catholic University Students (FOCUS) and he wrote an article recently that talks about 19 ways to let your parish priest know that you appreciate him, and he and Gus get into the nuts and bolts of it all. To read Jonathan’s article, click here.

Also, today is the feast day of St. Maximilian Kolbe and Gus spends a little time talking about his amazing story. To read it, click here.

St. Maximilian Kolbe, pray for us.
