In the first reading today from 1 Corinthians 2, St. Paul talks about two spirits - "the spirit of the world" and "the Spirit who is from God." He goes on.
"Now the natural man does not accept what pertains to the Spirit of God, for to him it is foolishness, and he cannot understand it..." St. Paul juxtaposes those who think only from a worldly perspective with those who see things spiritually. The reading ends with "But we have the mind of Christ."
If you're a spiritual person (Christian), many today think you're a rube, an idiot, a simpleton. This is because they don't think there is anything beyond the natural; there is no supernatural. But we know better. There is something (someone) far greater than that which we only experience with our fleshly senses. And we know and trust that God has a plan which far exceeds anything this world can offer. So you get to choose today: will you have "the mind of the world" or "the mind of Christ"?
Father, thank you for giving us the grace of faith. Help us to always think with "the mind of Christ." Amen.
