Good Morning, Child of God! No matter what time of day you’re reading this, I stand by that statement that started every one of my Seize the Day morning shows when I was still on the air. To paraphrase Jimmy Buffet, it’s morning somewhere! I’m enjoying retirement and still trying to learn how to sleep in.
I must admit I write this with a degree of sorrow in my heart. It seems that we have come to the end of an era. The A Minute in the Church book series is about to go out of print. We have already sold out of Volume I and have very limited quantities of the other titles in the series. We will continue to sell them until they run out. At that point, barring something unforeseen, they will no longer be available.
As a self-publisher, we have always taken on the financial risk of printing and selling books. Thanks be to God, the A Minute in the Church series has been very popular. We have sold well over a million copies, most of which were just $1 a copy. Each time we sold a batch, we bought more, believing that God wanted these in the hands of people. But each time we bought more books, the price went up. The cost of paper and printing has skyrocketed, especially over the last five to seven years. Since I am now retired, we have decided that it would not be prudent to take on that kind of financial risk, even though we believe there is still a strong demand for these wonderful resources.
As of this writing, we have varying numbers of the remaining titles. When each one sells out, that will be reflected on the web site. And when they’re gone, they’re gone. ☹
On an up note, we still have plenty of copies of Magnetic Christianity, and we are now selling them for just $2 a copy! I hope you’ll consider getting copies of Magnetic Christianity for your friends, family or even your parish.
