Testimony To and From Jesus

Posted on

Christianity has to be from God. Why do I say this? Because Jesus told His disciples again and again what they were in for. “They will seize and persecute you, they will hand you over to the synagogues and to prisons, and they will have you led before kings and governors because of my name.” Ever wonder why anyone would sign on for this duty? It MUST be from God.

Jesus then goes on. “It will lead to your giving testimony. Remember, you are not to prespare your defense beforehand, for I myself shall give you a wisdom in speaking that all your adversaries will be powerless to resist or refute.”

Giving testimony. Hmm…sounds a lot like what we might call evangelization. Sharing your story. Telling others what God has done in your life. About His many blessings. About how He has seen you through many a trial. You know, this doesn’t just happen before kings and governors. It happens with friends and family and co-workers and strangers. If you don’t know what to say, that’s good! Say a prayer and let Jesus do the talking!

Father, we thank you for the many opportunities you give us to share our testimony to Christ Jesus. Help us to get out of the way and let Jesus speak through us. Amen.
