Love always desires the good. God is love. Therefore, God always desires the good. He always wants what is best for us. He also knows that often what we want is not what is best for us.
In the first reading from Isaiah 48, it’s put like this: “I, the LORD, your God, teach you what is for your good, and lead you on the way you should go…” In the Gospel reading from Matthew 11, Jesus says, “But wisdom is vindicated by her works.”
So, what is the way we should go? Quite simply, it is God’s way. We get details in today’s readings. “Hearken to my commandments.” Walk in the way of wisdom by following Christ. Funny how it all sounds so simple, and yet we find it so complicated. Think of it this way: God’s way is simple, but not always easy.
Father, help us to see more clearly the way we should go – your way. Amen.

Good morning Gus. You brought me back many years to a boss I had as a teen. He liked to point out that easier is not always better as taking the easy path often led to having to do something over.
Etched in my brain is: “How come there is never enough time to do it right, but always enough time to do it over!”
It is the same with His plan/path, which is always better than mine. When I LISTEN to Him,
God Bless!
