Sharing Your Blessing

Posted on

What an amazing first reading today from Isaiah 11. We’ll hear it again in the near future. The first half of the reading talks about the Christ, the second half talks about how things will be when all is fulfilled. Breathtaking!

In the Gospel reading today from Luke 10, Jesus says to the disciples privately, “Blessed are the eyes that see what you see. For I say to you, many prophets and kings desired to see what you see, but did not see it, and to hear what you hear, but did not hear it.” Jesus was reminding the disciples what an amazing privilege they had been given. I hope you know that the same holds true for us.

Imagine how excited you would be if you could actually know God. Not just know ABOUT God, but know God, in a deep, personal intimate way. Imagine your sense of awe if the mysteries of eternal life had been told and explained to you. Would you be able to keep your joy and gratitude from bursting out? Now stop imagining! Because it is all true! You have been blessed to see and know the Creator of the Universe. You have been blessed to hear what He has to tell you, and all humanity. Friend, if you’re not sharing that incredible blessing with the world, then perhaps it is time for a check-up from the neck up. Tell someone today!

Father, we could never begin to thank you for the blessings you have bestowed on us, allowing us to see and hear and know you through your Son, Christ Jesus. Give us the grace to share that blessing with everyone we meet. Amen.
