Today's Gospel reading is from Luke 5 about the call of Levi. You may know him better as Matthew. Jesus dines at his home with tax collectors and sinners, and is called out by the Pharisees and scribes. Read what His reply is.
In the first reading from Isaiah 58, we see what shall be when the people follow the call of the LORD. "Repairer of the breach," they shall call you, "Restorer of ruined homesteads."
Do you have something in your life that needs repair or restoration? Of course we're not talking about home improvements. Think of relationships that may be damaged. Of sinful patterns caused by past wounds. God wants to repair and restore all those things in your life that are broken. And when we allow that, we can then be vessels that help facilitate repair and restoration in the lives of others.
Father, repair and restore those broken parts of our lives, that we may help bring others to you for their repair and restoration. Amen.
