Remaining in Darkness

Posted on

Everyone has a job to do in the Kingdom of God. In today's first reading from Acts 12 and 13, the Holy Spirit says, "Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them." What is your call?

In the Gospel reading from John 12, Jesus says, "I came into the world as light, so that everyone who believes in me might not remain in darkness."

If you had the choice between living in darkness or light (physically speaking), which would you choose? Pretty sure you would choose light. Living in darkness is hard and scary. So, spiritually speaking, why do so many decide to remain in darkness? Why won't they allow Jesus to illuminate their lives? Let's allow Jesus to shine His light into every area of darkness in our lives.

Father, dispel the darkness in our lives with the light of Christ, that we may not remain in darkness. Amen.
