Gus opens the show by remembering his sister Phyllis who passed away early last week. Her health had been declining for some time, but it was rather unexpected. This is the third child that Gus’ mom has lost, and her oldest.

We also welcome Monica Miller to the program. She’s the director of Citizens for a Pro-life Society. She gave Gus her review of the new movie “Spotlight,” which details the Boston Globe’s investigation into the clergy sex abuse scandal in the Archdiocese of Boston in 2003. She also talks with Gus about Robert Lewis Dear’s assault on a Planned Parenthood facility in Colorado Springs, Colorado, which left three people dead, including a police officer. It’s called into question “pro-life rhetoric” so Gus asks listeners what exactly “pro-life rhetoric” is.

And, it’s Monday so Gus does a round of Tell Me Something Good!

Eternal rest grant unto Phyllis, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May she rest in peace.

Phyllis
