Fr. Bryan Massingale, professor at Marquette University who teaches a course on Martin Luther King Jr.’s faith and ethics, talks about the late civil rights leader and explains the similarities/differences between King the legend and King the man. He says that when we take Martin Luther King Jr. off the pedestal, he becomes a greater inspiration to work for justice for all. Check out his article here.
Also, Gus talks about the daily scriptures, and his daily reflection, “Obedience Is Better”, which tells the story of how Saul disconnected from God and how Samuel taught him about obedience. Then, he recounts, the Gospel, which recounts Jesus speaking to the Pharisees about fasting. Gus wraps up the segment by playing Martin Luther King’s famous “I Have A Dream” speech.
And, we’re joined by Hilah and Will Divers in the Conversion Corner where they talk about their journey from Protestantism to the Catholic faith.
