Today’s readings tell the stories of two miracle babies – Samson and John the Baptist. The mothers of both of these boys were barren. Everyone assumed they would never have children. God had another plan.
Each of these babies had a special mission in God’s plan. Samson was destined to deliver Israel from the power of the Philistines. John the Baptist paved the way for the Messiah.
These readings are a great reminder that EVERY baby is a miracle. And that God has a very special plan for all of his children. From the moment of their conception, every human person is a unique, one-of-a-kind masterpiece creation of God. A true miracle! When we can open our eyes and see the true miracle that every person is, well, that’s life-changing stuff.
Father, we pray that you will help us see everyone as a miracle. May we treat every human life as the miracle that it is. Amen.
