Making All Things New

Posted on

During this Easter season, our second readings have been from the Book of Revelation. These are the visions of St. John. There's so much symbolism in Revelation. I encourage you to study up on this book.

At the end of today's second reading we read, "The One who sat on the throne said, 'Behold, I make all things new.'" Of course, the one sitting on the throne is Jesus.

Jesus makes all things new. I remember when my wife Michelle had her conversion experience. Jesus made her new. She radiated such joy and peace. I didn't have that, and after witnessing my "new" wife, I knew I needed what she had. And so I have my life to Christ. I have been made new. And I pray that every day I will continue to be made new. Are you happy with the old version of yourself? Or are you ready to be made new?

Father, help us to lose our old selves, that we may be made new through your Son Christ Jesus the Lord. Amen.
