In the first reading today from Acts 13, we hear more of Paul's speech in the synagogue in Antioch. He continues to tell the Jews there about the plan of God fulfilled in Christ Jesus.
In the Gospel reading from John 14, Jesus says to the disciples, "Where I am going you know the way." Thomas replies, "Master, we do not know where you are going; how can we know the way?" Jesus says, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."
How can we know the way? Many today are asking the same question, especially when it comes to whatever "the new normal" looks like. The answer is always the same. We don't know the way. But Jesus does. If we simply follow Him, we are following the way, though we may not know where it leads. But trust that He will never lead us astray.
Father, we put all our trust in Jesus, to lead us along the way that you have set out for us. Amen.
Amen!!
Boy, did you nail it for me with "…whatever “the new normal” looks like!"
With this gift of additional time, I (like so many) have been reading and praying more. With the many differing opinions/“teachings” in our Church, it became easy to forget that this has always existed (as evidenced by the number of different Protestant denominations) and it led to some confusion about who to listen to and who to dismiss.
Needless to say, I have a tendency to complicate things! :)
Thank you for all that you do in reminding me (us) that I need only to follow Him. I greatly appreciate your focus on His Word in Scripture as a reminder that I need not look to anyone else.
“I will come back again and take you to myself, so that where I am you also may be.” What a promise!! He – PERSONALLY – will take me/us to be with Him always!
Blessings!
I like to receive you on my IPAD but somehow it won’t let me
