Today the Church celebrates the Solemnity of Saint Joseph, Spouse of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Joseph is often referred to as the foster father or earthly father of Jesus.
The readings today stress fatherhood. In the first reading from 2 Samuel, the Lord assures David that the Messiah would come from his lineage. And in the second reading from Romans 4, we read about the fatherhood of Abraham.
Over the last 33 days, Michelle and I have been doing the Consecration to St. Joseph by Fr. Donald Calloway. I has been amazing! I have learned so much and will consecrate myself today to the spiritual fatherhood of St. Joseph. I encourage you to learn more about the man who taught our Lord Jesus, nurtured and protected Jesus and Mary and will aid you on your journey to sainthood.
Father, we thank you for the spiritual fatherhood of St. Joseph. May we imitate his courage and faithfulness always. Amen.
AMEN Gus!! I too complete my Consecration to St. Joseph today – for the third time! I could not agree with you more as it has been (and continues to be) a life-changer for me!
Though an excellent guide for every husband and father, it is also a wonderful read for women as well.
God Bless!🙏🙏🙏
