God Said

Posted on

Our first reading today is the beginning. We start the creation story from Genesis 1. In the Gospel reading from Mark 6, we see that everyone who but touched the the tassel on Jesus’ cloak was healed.

“In the beginning, when God created the heavens and the earth, the earth was a formless wasteland, and darkness covered the abyss, while a mighty wind swept over the waters. Then God said, ‘Let there be light,’ and there was light.”

All it took was a word. God spoke everything into being. He didn’t need to come up with a formula or go through any gyrations. He simply said the word, and it was created. God is all-powerful, and his word is creative. Let him speak new life into you today.

Father, may we hear and heed your word. May it bring new life to us, through Christ Jesus your Son. Amen.
