In today's Gospel reading from Matthew 10, Jesus sends out the Twelve with their instructions. For the first reading, we're back in Hosea, chapter 11.
Yet it was I who taught Ephraim to walk,
who took them in my arms;
I drew them with human cords,
with bands of love;
I fostered them like one
who raises an infant to his cheeks;
Yet, though I stooped to feed my child,
they did not know that I was their healer.
I'm pretty sure you've experienced a healing. Truth is, we should always be in a state of healing - if not physical, then spiritual. I'm currently in the healing process from a knee replacement. With all the advancements in modern medicine, it can be easy to forget that in truth, God is the healer. Yes, modern medicine is a marvel. But without God, there is no healing. Let's thank Him today for our healing.
Father, thank you for healing us in every way we need to be healed, through Christ our Lord. Amen.
I just had my 2nd knee replaced 8 years after the first. I am hoping that the Lord will use this time to teach me how to become closet to him.
