Tammy Abshire, director of stewardship for the Diocese of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, calls in to talk about the torrential rains that have dumped nearly 7 trillion gallons of rain in that state since August 12th. Tammy talks about how it’s affected their parishes and schools, in addition to everywhere else in their community. If you would like to donate to their relief efforts, please click here.

Afterwards, another Louisiana native, Jay Toups, calls in to talk about his new book, appropriately called “The Storm: A Time of Mercy, Choices and Hope.” The book deals with how Jay has handled the storms in his life, including Hurricane Katrina, and Jay also talks about how the recent flooding has affected him, his family and his friends

And, Gus engages in a little Prayer Time with listeners.
