In today’s first reading from Galatians 3, St. Paul says, “For all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ.” Did you realize that’s what happened at your baptism?
When you think about it, clothing is often the thing that identifies a person. For instance, when a crime is committed, police need to know what the suspect was wearing. If you’ve ever met someone for the first time, you may tell them what you’re wearing so they know how to identify you.
I wonder if anyone would recognize us as being “clothed with Christ.” Are we “wearing our faith on our sleeve?” There’s an old expression that says, “Clothes make the man.” How much would that change us if we were truly clothed with Christ?
Father, may we “wear” Christ every day, that others may identify us with Him. Amen.
