In our first reading today, we hear the statement of the Apostles that came from the Council of Jerusalem. Today's Gospel reading from John 15 is filled with things we could talk about.
Jesus said to His disciples, "It was not you who chose me, but I who chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit that will remain, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name he may give you." I believe that every day we have to choose Jesus - choose to follow Him. But let's turn that around.
You have been chosen. Chosen to attend the wedding banquet of the Lamb! Congratulations! The thing is you don’t have to accept Jesus’ offer/invitation. Unfortunately, too many Catholics today refuse the invitation. They may readily accept a wedding invitation from a celebrity or politician or beloved family member. But the King of Kings and Lord of Lords? Meh… How very sad.
Father, thank you for choosing us. May we know the honor of and readily accept your invitation to the Wedding Feast of the Lamb and the call to share Christ with others. Amen.

Yes, He has extended an open invitation to all – and we have a choice!
Part of my daily prayer is for the wisdom to recognize His Guidance in all my decisions. I know He is always showing me/us the way, but I don’t always look for it or pay attention to it.
“Listen to Him.”
