Today's first reading is from Hebrews 11. The word "faith" is used seven times in this short passage. It begins with a definition of faith.

"Faith is the realization of what is hoped for and evidence of things not seen." The sacred author then goes on to speak of Cain and Abel and Noah. This is something of a recap of what we have recently read in the first readings from the book of  Genesis.

Faith is what we as Christians are all about. And let's be honest - faith is not always easy. We tend to want the concrete. We like proof. We like solid explanations. But faith goes beyond these things. God loves you and desires only the best for you. He's got this. Have faith.

Father, increase our faith and trust in you always. Amen.
