Ask, Seek, Knock

Posted on

How would you feel if someone called you stupid? Probably much like the Galatians felt when Paul called them that in his letter to them. Check it out in today's first reading.

In today's Gospel reading from Luke 11, Jesus says, "And I tell you, ask and you will receive; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you."

We're all looking for God. God has built into us a desire to know Him. Many will ask, seek and knock in lots of different places. (Many of them the wrong ones.) The "place" where we are sure to find God is in Jesus Christ. He alone is the Eternal Son, the Word made Flesh. Sure we can find hints of glimmers of God in many places. But Jesus is the one sure thing. Ask for Him. Seek Him. Knock on His door. There you will find what you're looking for.

Father, we desire to know you more. May we grow in our relationship with Jesus as He leads us to heaven. Amen.
