A Life Verse

Posted on

Do you have a Life Verse? Do you even know what that is? A Life Verse is a passage of Scripture that you adopt for your own. A passage that speaks right into your heart; one that you try to live by, that guides your steps. The reason I bring this up today is because part of the today’s first reading is my Life Verse.

“The end of all things is at hand. Therefore be serious and sober-minded so that you will be able to pray. Above all, let your love for one another be intense, because love covers a multitude of sins. Be hospitable to one another without complaining. As each one has received a gift, use it to serve one another as good stewards of God’s varied grace. Whoever preaches, let it be with the words of God; whoever serves, let it be with the strength that God supplies, so that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belong glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.” 1 Peter 4:7-11

If you don’t have a Life Verse, I encourage you to start the process of adopting one. Pray it daily. Let it remind you of God’s great plan for your life. Share it with others! If you like, feel free to use mine! Whatever you select, you can never go wrong with God’s word in your heart.

Father, may we always draw closer to you through your holy word. May your word lead and guide us at every stage of our lives. Amen.

My life prayer was recommended by Blessed Mother Mary at an apparition in Medjugorje. Matthew 6:24-34. The final verse: Do not worry about tomorrow; tomorrow will take care of itself. Sufficient for a day is its own evil.

A “life verse”. What a wonderful idea. Your’s is a wonderful guide for everyday! Gus, thanks for putting this in my mind. I am on the search for one to make my own.

Praise the Lord for He is Good.
