Fr. Robert Nixon, a Benedictine monk, calls in from the Abbey of the Most Holy Trinity in New Norcia, Australia to talk about a new TAN release he recently translated called “The Visions of St. Frances of Rome.” These writings were originally written by the saint during her lifetime in the 15th century. During a sickness, she was visited one day by an angel who showed her hell, purgatory and heaven and this is the first-ever English translation. She shared these visions with her confessor who wrote them down. Fr. Nixon also shares his vocation story and the act of translation, which is a monastic charism for Benedictine monks dating back centuries.
Later, Gus talks about holy water. He keeps three vials of it in his office and he asks listeners to call in if they keep some in their homes and if it’s from anywhere special.
And Gus does one of his Lenten penances live on the air, which is reading and reflecting on Psalm 51 every day.
