Gus reads and reflects on Psalm 51, which is one of his Lenten penances. He talks about what it means to him and then plays a couple of worship songs that center around the psalm in Francesca LaRosa’s “Create a Clean Heart in Me” and Marty Haugen’s “Be Merciful, O Lord.” Afterwards, he mentions how Psalm 51 is used in the mass liturgy in the Responsorial Psalm and Gus says it gets him every time. He invites listeners to call in and share a responsorial psalm that hits them right in the heart.
Also, in today's edition of Friday w/the Fathers, Gus continues with St. Ambrose of Milan's "Treatise on the Faith."
