Gus recounts something he witnessed last weekend at a pizza parlor. He took two of his grandsons, Beckett and Wyatt, out to eat and their waiter, Sal, started off telling him about how little he gets paid. It started everything off on the wrong foot, and then it got worse. It took them 30 minutes to get their appetizer and when Sal finally delivered it, he told Gus that somebody else would be waiting on them from here on out because he was quitting. He then proceeded to make the rounds and announce the same message to all his customers, making things in the restaurant incredibly awkward as a young girl named Stephanie attempted to cover Sal's tables. Gus asks listeners to call in if they've ever experienced anything like that.
Also, in today's Friday w/the Fathers, Gus reads and reflects from St. John Chrysostom's Homilies on the Gospel of Matthew and reads an interesting article from Crisis Magazine by Philip Primeau called "Clarity Amid Calamity: A Catholic Perspective on the Israel-Hamas War."
And it's Friday so Gus engages in some Prayer Time with listeners.
