I really like your style on radio and on these CD’s… you present the facts as a friend and a teacher. You do not come across as a lecturer or as someone who is imposing his own beliefs on others.

- Gus - I am thoroughly enjoying the apologetics CD’s . They have helped me to understand many teachings of the catholic faith that I never had understood completely. I am a”convert” - have been a catholic now for 35 years, and finally, have found the deeper understanding and facts behind several doctrine that I had questioned. Magnificent
I’ve never been a huge U2 fan, but I’ve always admired Bono, and the fact that their music always carries a message, often dealing with faith.
In a recent Rolling Stone magazine interview with Brian Hiatt, U2’s Bono says that the song “Magnificent” is inspired by the Blessed Virgin Mary.
“All music for me is worship of one kind or another,” says Bono.
The song appears on the band’s new album, “No Line on the Horizon.”
“Magnificent was inspired by the Magnificat, a passage from the Gospel of Luke in the voice of the Virgin Mary that was previously set to music by Bach,” says Bono. “There’s this theme running through the album of surrender and devotion and all the things I find really difficult.”
The lyrics include: “Magnificent, Magnificent, I was born, I was born to be with you in this space and time. I was born, I was born to sing for you. I didn’t have a choice but to lift you up and sing whatever song you wanted me to. I give you back my voice. From the womb my first cry, it was a joyful noise … Only love, only love can leave such a mark, but only love, only love can heal such a scar.”

I was snapping some pix of Michelle’s amaryllis when our cat, Boo (the Bully) jumped up and taught me a lesson in life. Sometimes you just gotta stop and smell the flowers! Amazing what we can learn from our critters, isn’t it?

One Minute of Prayer
Barack Obama is the 44th President of the United States of America. In 1 Timothy 2:1-2, St. Paul tells us to pray for those in authority. I ask you to join me in praying for the conversion of President Obama, that he will see life as precious, and defend human beings from the moment of conception to natural death. Join me in praying an Our Father, a Hail Mary and a Glory Be each day for this intention.
