Gus talks about today's First Reading from Zechariahwhere the Lord through the prophet talks of the importance of example and that 10 men of every nationality will grab hold of every Jew by the garment and say, "Let us go with you, for we have heard that God is with you." Gus talks about how attractive the faith is by nature and how we need to be stewards of that attractiveness. He shares the story of his bride Michelle's conversion, which ultimately led to his because of how it transformed her for the better. He wanted to be like that too. Gus invites listeners to call in and share who made the faith more attractive to them.

Also, there is lots of news coming out of Rome this week as we begin the long-awaited Synod on Synodality. Dr. Matthew Bunson of EWTN News calls in to go over a bit of it with Gus, beginning with Pope Francis creating 21 new cardinals, which has essentially changed the face of the College of Cardinals who'll be voting in the next papal election. It's a diverse group from all over the world, which brings the percentage of European-based cardinals down to 39%. Dr. Bunson also talks about the misconception that Pope Francis is stacking the deck with progressive cardinals in that many new cardinals hail from Africa and parts of Asia where orthodoxy remains high. They also discuss the dubia sent to Pope Francis by five cardinals, which was actually answered by him this time. Many of the questions asked for clarification from the pope on points of doctrine and discipline.
