Earlier this week, during our Tell Me Something Good segment, Gus talked to a listener who was so grateful for her son’s return to the faith. Although he was raised Catholic, he fell away and is now in college. He started dating a girl who recently converted to Catholicism, and she asked him to go to mass with her. Gus often encourages parents whose children have fallen away to pray for someone to enter their lives who will lead them back. He also reiterates a common phrase, “Converts make the best Catholics.” He invites listeners who are converts or have an influential Catholic convert in their lives to call in and talk about them.
Later, Bob Dunning calls and chats with Gus about mathematics, abacuses and chisanbop, which leads to a bigger conversation about tipping your waiters and baristas.
