Gus talks about a moral dilemma he faced yesterday while biking with his friend Fr. Kevin. While on a 45-mile bike ride, near the end of the ride both experienced the athletic phenomenon known as "bonking" (cyclist talk for "losing energy"). While stopping to rest, they noticed an abandoned, unopened Power Bar on a picnic table. After thinking about it for a minute or two, Fr. Kevin grabbed it and shared it with Gus. Gus asks listeners if that was the right thing to do.

Later, Gus engages in some Friday Prayer Time with listeners.

Gus closes describing some funny mixed Valentine's Day/Ash Wednesday cards posted on catholicmatch.com since both take place on the same day this year.

If a priest offered half to me I would say take it! Too often we ignore the simple things that God provides!

Absolutely the right thing to do! Energy sent from God at absolutely the right time. Good for Fr. Kevin for accepting it and sharing it.

I would not have eaten the Power Bar. Since you found it on a table rather than on the ground, it indicates to me that someone left the bar there either for himself or a friend to eat later. Given that it’s possible the bar was not lost or abandoned and may have been intended for someone other than me, I would have left it there as eating it would have felt like stealing to me.
